Dr Murilo Leie – Bio

Dr Murilo Leie studied orthopaedic surgery and graduated in 2015 from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul in Southern Brazil. He practised as a consultant for 2 years until he decided to undertake a Master’s Degree in Surgical Science with a focus on knee surgery. He earned a fellowship in revision knee arthroplasty in Brazil before moving to Australia in 2017.

Dr Leie undertook another two orthopaedic fellowships and sub-specialisation of knee surgery under with Associate Prof Leo Pinczewski and Dr David Parker who are well-known worldwide famous and respected orthopaedic surgeons.

After completing the process of medical specialty recognition, Dr Leie has become an Australian orthopaedic surgeon and Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. Since 2020 he has been working with Mr Arash Taheri, from whom he has learned a highly sophisticated and minimally invasive technique of robotic hip and knee arthroplasty surgery.

Dr Murilo Leie shares a holistic approach to the patients, prioritising their personal demands and mitigating their risk factors before surgery. He has also published multiple studies in high-level orthopaedic journals whose results benefit patients as well as the wider orthopaedic community.
